About the Facility LocationThe assignment is located in a coastal city along the Gulf of Mexico that offers a range of cultural, outdoor, and recreational attractions suited to varied interests. Clinicians on assignment may visit the USS Lexington naval aviation museum, the Texas State Aquarium, Padre Island National Seashore, and the Art Museum of South Texas. Outdoor activities such as beach horseback riding, kayaking, boat tours, and water parks are available, alongside live music, dining, and cultural events in the downtown area. The city is also home to a Double-A Minor League Baseball team, the Corpus Christi Hooks, who play at Whataburger Field.
About the Clinician's WorkdayThe neurosurgeon will provide 24-hour call coverage for inpatient neurological surgery services on an on-site basis, with shifts structured from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Call coverage is required for this assignment, and the clinician must maintain continuous on-site availability for surgical interventions throughout all assigned coverage periods. A patient volume of 5 is anticipated for this assignment. Board certification in neurological surgery, an active state license, an active DEA registration, prescriptive authority, and a clean file for temporary privileges are required for all clinicians considered for this role. A remote orientation of 2 to 3 hours is required prior to the start of the assignment.
